Copper and Brass Rivets are one of the oldest methods of riveting and attaching materials, as well as being nearly in-destructable.
The washer slips over the post of the rivet, and is seated into place with the setter. After being properly seated to the leather, the post is cut 1/8"+ above the surface, and then peened over to a nice smooth rounded shape.
