Brought to you from the wonderful folks of OKA tools Japan, this hardware removal tool is the perfect solution for your everyday construction "oopsies". They allow you to completely remove rivets, snaps, and other "post" hardware without any chance of damaging the leather surrounding unlike other removal methods.
This tool works by pushing a blunt spike through the cap of the hardware, hitting the interior post, and pushing it out through the back.
Included: Spike , 4 Sizes of base to accomodate SM-XL Hardware
Steps to use:
- Place hardware with "cap" side facing up, and "post" side on the bottom.
- Indent the cap to stop slipping.
- Align bottom of post with corresponding sized hole in base.
- Hammer blunt spike into cap until bottom hardware falls through.
- Remove any remaining hardware, pliers may be needed for leverage. Be careful as there may be sharp shrapnel from the removal process.
